The Knowledge engine is your library, facts bank and corpora — outcome-labelled, expiry-governed and sequestered per company. It is what drafting retrieves from and what the go / no-go scores against.

Your corpora

A corpus is a collection of documents: your bid library, your compliance documents, your facts. Upload past bids, policies and certificates by dropping them on the page — PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx) or Markdown; legacy .doc, .xls and .ppt files cannot be read yet, so save them as the modern format first. Each corpus has its own page listing documents with their type, status and quality; documents can be re-typed, re-processed or deleted there.

Content you upload is never added to the shared reference library that other customers can search.

What happens to an upload

A document is parsed, split into passages, indexed and enriched in the background. Its status runs uploaded, parsing, parsed, chunking, embedding, enriching, ready — or failed, or review needed. Past bids become response units: the reusable answers drafting retrieves, labelled with the tender's outcome once one is recorded.

Shared with client, Not shared

If a WayWiser bid writer works in your workspace, what they upload or record is not shared with you until they share it, and until then it is not on this page at all. The writer sees each document and fact with a Shared with client or Not shared chip, a "Client can see" filter on the facts bank and on every corpus page, and a Share with client / Stop sharing control on each upload and document (sharing an upload shares the fact it carries; a fact from an interview follows its bid). Taking something back is confirmed first. The rules are on Team and roles.

The facts bank

Certificates, insurances, CVs, KPIs, policies — the facts a checklist asks for and a draft cites. Each fact has a type, an expiry where one applies, a verification state and a scope (company, buyer or one tender). Interview answers from Before you decide live here too, dated and attributed, so they can be reused on the next bid while they hold.

Expiry governs everything: only current facts reach drafts. Expiring (within 60 days), expired and undetermined facts are held back, and expired ones are flagged on every live checklist. Each fact's status is in words under it — Current, Expiring, Expired, or "Status could not be determined — set the expiry".

Upload quality

A facts-bank upload is graded when it is read, and the grade decides what happens:

  • High quality — the reader found the fields it needed; the page shows what was read, quoting the certificate number and the expiry it found.
  • Partial — a required field (usually the expiry) could not be read. Complete it by hand and the fact becomes current.
  • Unusable — a scan with no text layer, a password-protected file, the wrong kind of document. The page says which, with advice, and offers Delete. No fact row is created and nothing reads as "Current".

Re-check lets you grade an older upload again as a given type.

The review queue

Low-confidence classifications from corpus ingestion land in the review queue — ten seconds per item. Accept the suggestion, pick a better one, or dismiss.

Ships with WayWiser

Drafting also grounds in WayWiser's own reference corpus. Members see a summary of what it covers; its contents are not browsable from a customer workspace.
